Meg
Meg came to the centre as a very frigtened dog called 'Little Mo' after her owners decided she was not wanted any more.
Hi everyone it's Meg. I have settled into my new home very well and love my new family and they love me too. We go for lots of walk and runs on Beverley Westwood. I play with all my toys with my new family and have lots of fuss, love and fun. I get lovely food and lots of doggy treats. Then I snuggle down in my soft bed with my blankets and have a lovely sleep.
Bye from Meg

Dale and Dana
After deciding to get a cat we browsed the website looking for one that caught our eye. We never intended to get two cats, however when we read the sad story that these 10 year old cats had lost their home due to their owner sadly passing away we felt the urge to bring them home with us. After 9 months in the cattery they had been over looked so many times for younger cats and kittens. After going to meet them, we were smitten with these two genuinely lovely and friendly cats.
Dale and Dana have settled in really well. they can be often be found snoozing on the dining room chairs all snuggled up, and always come for stokes and attention in the evening.
As you can see from these pictures, Dale and Dana have happily settled into their new home, fighting over their favourite bed their own pop up tent!

Rosie
Rosie Rosie is a collie cross, we have had her since she was a puppy and before we had her she was abused prior to being resuced by your centre. I believe she had a sister at the centre but we could only take one dog so we couldn't bring home her sister. She has been living with us for ten years now is living a happy life with us. I have attached a picture of my dog, Rosie.
Best Wishes
Sophie

Judy
Dear All,
On September 30th 2000 we, that is the Bradley family adopted JUDY, a cross german shepherd. She had been at HAWT since the March. She had been brought in if I remember after being left tied up in Beverley, aged about 6 months. When we got her home she soon got her feet under the table and settled down to become a wonderful family member. Only a week later she went for her first holiday in our caravan to Filey, we remember her playing with a ball on the beach for hours thundering up and down on the sand but she never knew when to give up. On returning to the camp site she had a quick drink and her tea then slept through till the morning! She had many more holidays in the caravan but her favourite place had to be Perranporth Cornwall where she loved to walk on the dunes (see photo) and play in the surf, I think its our favourite as well!
However it is with great sadness we have to let you know that Judy died suddenly on March 9th 2010. We have had 10 fantastic years with her and we thankyou for rescuing and caring for her till we came along and she chose us as her new family. We are very privelaged!

Gandalf and Jasmin
Hello everyone,
Just thought we'd drop you a quick line and a photo with all the news of our new home.
We very quickly managed to get our paws under the table and the room service is terrific!
We have a lovely new bed that we have been bought but much prefer the human ones upstairs, they are very comfy and we like to find a nice sunny spot to sleep on them.
Our new owners make a huge fuss of us, one of them is at home all day, we watch from the window when the other two set off for school and work and always come rushing to meet them when they return.
We've only been here since towards the end of February and our new family can't believe their luck, in the photo we are in one of our favourite places to be when the fire is on. Gandalf's fur is growing back nicely and Jasmin loves to stretch out on top of the kitchen radiator!
Everyone who has visited thinks we are brilliant and we would like to thank you for giving us all a happy ending!
Love from Gandalf & Jasmin xxxx

Boo
About Boo
During 2007 we decided to adopt a second dog for our (then) 14 year old daughter. We were fortunate enough to find out that the H.A.W.T. had a male German Shepherd puppy and when we saw him we knew he was perfect Boo (as my daughter named him) was the "runt" of a large litter and was considerably smaller than his siblings and we were told he might have health problems but as my daughter (herself on crutches due to a long term foot problem) said:
"he's perfect - he's broken like me".
It wasn't until Boo reached about 15 months old that the true extent of his health problems became apparent though. We took Boo into the vets in August of 2008 to discover (after a lengthy diagnosis) that he had a hole in his heart and were told then that his life would not be a long one.
However, with regular medication and monthly trips to the vets to be "drained" Boo carried on a full life until early in 2010 when it became clear that his heart problems were leading to other related issues with his lungs.
During the first week of April 2010, Boo's health deteriorated rapidly, along with his quality
of life and we had to make the decision that all pet owners dread.
Boo had made many friends during his short life and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him but we can take some solace in the fact that he had a great time while he was with us.
We also believe that his presence was a strong
contributing factor to our daughter regaining her health as having to walk him frequently was great physiotherapy after her foot operation. Needless to say, we won't hesitate in coming back to the H.A.W.T. as and when we decide the time is right to add to our family again.
Thank you.
The Dalton family.
