Rosie
Roy and Ruth adopted Rosie a Jack Russell in 2009.
“I cannot begin to tell you how much she means to us, she is everything we hoped for and more. We are always talking abut her ‘Rosie did this’ ‘Rosie did that’ or ‘you should have seen Rosie today’
She is such a pleasure to be with, out walking, at home, in the garden, even visiting our friends; she has always kept us entertained. Both our daughters have been home again to see her.
She has met lots of other dogs on her walks and has always behaved perfectly. Every evening she occupies the rung in front of the open log fire. She has settled very well and seems to think of this as her home. She is gentle and calm but at the same time is still spirited and fun.
She loved to play outside and we are beginning to train her to ‘sit’ ‘stay’ and ‘fetch’. She does very well because she just loves being with us and enjoys the attention. We both feel very lucky to have her and never thought we would have so much love and affection for her so quickly. She is very special
Thank you so much again
Roy and Ruth

Barney and Cassie
From Karen in Skerne
We’ve had Barney since 2008 and he is brilliant, he’s turned into a very handsome and intelligent dog with a great personality, everyone he meets has to like him - he makes sure of that, he’s a very busy dog always on the go.
Cassie has been with us since the beginning of 2009, she’s a cute little dog and very affectionate. She’s changed colour since we got her and has a more brown in her coat. Her favourite thing to do is to hold her paw up so you can tickle her tummy, she’d have you doing this all day. She is not a good traveller but is getting better.
They both get on so well together and look out for one another. They are very nosey and like to sit upstairs looking out of the window. They love to play together as well as going on their walks. Afterwards they curl up on the settee and have a nap so life for them is perfect. I enclose a photo so you can see how beautiful they are.

Jack
A pair of Jack Russell terriers arrived at the centre August 10th 2009, Jack and Frosty. They were re homed separately as they were prone to fighting each other
The new owners of Jack have been in touch
"We got Jack from you in August - he came in with Frosty but couldn't home together..fell in love with him from the picture on your website - he looked so cute. When we came to see him he just rolled on his back and then was so full of energy we couldn't resist him. He jumped straight into the car and was no problem coming home and he's been the same ever since. We love him to bits - gives us so much love and he is spoilt to death..loves going for long walks down Beverley Beck - off the lead he runs like hell - really likes that - and his dad makes him a mug of tea every Sunday..sleeps in bed with us which is a bad habit we shouldn't have really encouraged but we are all happy so why not! Son has bought him a Hull FC t.shirt which he wears when it is cold - he doesn't like the cold or wind - he is a right wimp lol..waits for us to put the shirt on him. We really made the right choice with Jack and want to thank you so much for giving us the chance to give him a home - he is with us forever - can't imagine life without him now - just wish his previous owner could know how happy he is now.

Carrie
A sad stray kitten arrived at the vets HAWT use. She had a fractured back leg.
She was about eleven weeks old and no one knows how she came to have the break but it wasn't fresh and had started to heal.
Unfortunately her leg was too badly damaged to be repaired so she had to have it removed..... poor Trio.....who would want a cat with three legs?
Amy, our kennel assistant manager decided to take her home to live with her other rescue animals, four dogs, seven cats and six rabbits.
Trio is now called Carrie and has settled really well. She is like a high speed missile and having three legs does not affect her in the least. She chases Spider all over the house (Spider is also on the Happy Endings) and they are best friends. Six weeks have passed now and Carrie is growing fast.

Max
Just wanted to let you know how Max is getting along. We adopted Max from you in 2007 (he was called Haggis then but we had to change that!)
He is a fantastic dog - very lively and friendly.
He was very easy to train and is now really well behaved. He is very cheeky - he has a lovely bed (my partner says it's better than ours) but he still loves coming on the sofa with us at night for a snuggle.
He loves his walks and went on holiday last year to the Yorkshire Dales and he was in heaven swimming in the streams and chasing rabbits then snuggling at night by the fire.
All in all he is a great dog and everyone loves him loads.
