RT @RSPCA_official: Almost half the cats in our centres are black or black and white, and on average they take a third longer to find their…
I thought I would drop you a line and let you know how our rabbit Arthur is doing. He came to us from Hull Animal Welfare Trust last April and was known as ‘Louie’ at the time. He had been found as a stray and was in a foster home as the centre at Sunnydene was already full with other rabbits waiting for new homes. We approached Hull Animal Welfare after developing our knowledge and understanding of rabbits and realised that our existing rabbit Mabel was in need of a friend. We were very grateful that the trust were able to take Mabel in for a few weeks and bonded her with Arthur for us. This would have been very daunting for us to have done ourselves and Jean who was doing the bonding kept us up to date all the way through the bonding process.
When we brought Arthur home, he and Mabel were definitely ‘together’ but it has been an absolute pleasure to watch that bond develop and strengthen over the last 8 months. They are now very much in love and follow each other around the house. They mutually groom each other daily and bunny flop and snuggle up together frequently. I feel that we have actually rescued two rabbits as Mabel’s life has definitely improved for the better and it has been so rewarding to give gentle little Arthur a loving home.
Thank you very much to all who played a part in Arthur’s success story and best wishes for 2015 to all at HAWT.
